Commitment:  an agreement or pledge to do something in the future

As I spend more time learning about fitness and training, I easily get caught up in numbers, percentages, science, art, jargon and acronyms.  Last night, I was reminded how hard “it” really is. It’s not the proven rep scheme or diet… it’s sticking to it. Many smarter people than I have already identified the diet that works and the proven percentages and reps schemes, hence, they are proven. What we all need to remember is that it’s not the program we are on or the trendy diet we are trying, it’s the plan and sticking to it.  The hardest part about getting fit is sticking to the plan. Ask any coach or trainer and they will come up with a perfect program for your goals. The reality is, it’s not the program, it’s YOU. You have to commit to the plan. The simplest plan will work, but it’s up to you to commit, you have to choose every day what is important.  So…  as I sat there and listened to a common sense approach to fitness, I was once again reminded, it’s more about commitment than any rep scheme, percentage, or equation.  It’s about setting your goals and committing!
