About Trident

Our program is designed for scalability and applies equally well to all individuals regardless of age or fitness level. By varying the load and intensity, we start you at a level appropriate to your fitness and experience. With commitment and hard work you will achieve greater general fitness and a high degree of athleticism. We take an old-school approach emphasizing fundamental, functional movements with proper technique. You will learn and get fit with ever-changing workouts that combine bodyweight exercises, weightlifting, and a huge variety of high-intensity drills that combine cardio and strength challenges at the appropriate level for each person. The stimulus provided is always varied and the results are dramatic. The atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie to anyone willing to put in the work.

CrossFit Explained

Our idea on training is typically against the norm, which makes our workouts fun and different. Workouts are most often completed within group classes, which are professionally coached by our staffWe aim for a ratio of 10 athletes to each trainer. This provides you with the attention from the trainer that is necessary for your safety and success. You will be challenged both mentally and physically in your workouts, but will find a great sense of camaraderie with those around you.

 

Who we are

Trident CrossFit is a 9,500 sq/ft. fitness coaching facility equipped with weights, kettlebells, dumbbells, bars, balls, ropes, boxes, atlas stones, high walls, sleds — you name it, we have it or will get it. Located in Alexandria, Va., we offer group and individual coaching, utilizing the CrossFit methodology. CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements—pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running—executed at high intensity.

What we do

So what does all than mean? It means that at Trident CrossFit you will not find traditional “globo-gym” equipment or philoshopy. Instead you will find pull-up bars, kettlebells, barbells and wide open space for squatting, running, jumping, climbing, lifting and throwing–moving your body the way it is meant to be moved. It means that all your workouts will be comprised of exercises that mimic movements performed in day-to-day life or sport. The focus is on improving functional movements that are necessary and common in your daily activities.

Boredom? Forget about it. Constantly varied programming dictates that you will rarely do the same workout twice, when you do it primarily to measure your fitness.  You will never have to program your own workouts or spend hours in the gym. Instead, each day a workout will be provided for you that is scalable to suit your fitness level. And because our workouts are rarely longer than 40 minutes they can fit into even the busiest schedules.

Our fitness programming aims to improve your capacity in ten recognized fitness domain: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. The result is comprehensive physical fitness.
