Mike Kyser

Head Coach a.k.a. “Kyser”

Kyser is an active duty Coast Guardsman with 12 years of military experience. After coming from traditional forms of strength training to include your standard “globo gym” types he started training in Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Brazillian Jujitsu, and just about anything else to do with combat training, it was only natural that everything led to CrossFit in 2009 and he started following the Main Site. He immediately became hooked, started incorporating into everything else and it just fit. He was a Krav Maga instructor and from there gained a passion for helping others achieve what they thought was impossible while improving the life and fitness levels of those around him. Naturally he wanted to be a better CrossFitter and became certified as a Level 1 coach, where he has enjoyed the privilege to be inspired by the staff and athletes at Trident.

What’s your favorite workout?

I would say crushing anything with some crazy stuff in it like tire flips, sledge hammers, or pulling something with a maniac band of teammates. I like the “movements” that are functional and out of the ordinary.

When you’re not CrossFit-ting, you’re…

Chasing my little maniacs around, trying to smash my Mountain Bike, hiking with my family, or trying to be more dreamy than “Chad a licious”
