Ten Sisters Wine
Ten Points on Ten Sisters
1. Extraordinary Story. Ten Sisters is sourced from the King family’s vineyard and is named after the ten King daughters, who have one brother. He’s featured on the label and people are usually curious to hear about him first! The King family’s forebears were among the first settlers in southern New Zealand.
2. Excellent Reviews and Awards. Our 2013 sauvignon blanc received 90 points from Wine Enthusiast. Wine Spectator gave our 2011 pinot noir 91 points and named it as one of six “standouts” among Marlborough pinot noirs in Wine Spectator’s 2013 annual review of New Zealand. In its previous annual review, Wine Spectator selected Ten Sisters from among more than 300 wines as 1 of 12 “Top Value” recommended white wines. Please see our website for more reviews.
3. American Connection. The label was launched in 2010 (the vineyard is much older) with three generations of the family working in the business, especially Mary (mother of the Ten Sisters), Robyn (Sister No.4), her daughter Ellie, and Ellie’s husband Dennis. Unlike most New Zealand brands, Ten Sisters has family living in the United States: Dennis and Ellie live in Alexandria, Virginia, and import the wine themselves.
